Selenite is one of many forms of the mineral gypsum. It is formed as a result of an accumilation of salt from evaporated salt waters - over millions of years, and many repeated times over, this water builds up and then evaporates and leaves behind it layers of salt. Eventually with the concentrated water/saline solution, together with a cool environment, and the presence of gypsum crystalisation takes place.
Selenite is usually pure white and translucent with fine ribbing (also known as Satin Spar) or can have courser ribbing or even petal-like ribbing (Desert Rose). It can also come in orange, blue, brown and green depending on its specific formation and location (these variations have specific benefits). It is found in many areas of the world, the US, Mexico, Russia, Austria, Greece, Poland, Germany, France and England.
Spiritually, believed to be a link to light in the body, with the luminosity of the beautiful moon (liquid light), pure selenite helps you to access your angelic consciousness and higher guidance.
